2022 Cascade Birmingham Blast

Hello HP (non-Zajac), P, and AGP families,

The 2022 Cascade Birmingham Blast Swim Meet (LC) is a 3-day heats and finals meet at the Repsol Sports Centre (Calgary, AB) from June 3rd-5th, 2022. Please Declare your attendance by May 9th, 2022 at 11:59pm. Please note that this is a meet with strict entry standards, so please only declare if you are qualified for the event. Talk to your coach if you have any questions!

If you are only interested in attending certain days of the swim meet (for example, “Saturday only”), PLEASE declare what days you will be attending in the Registration Notes. If there are no notes in the declaration, your swimmer will be assumed to be attending every day of the event.

BBQ: Free BBQ for all swimmers and coaches as well as our volunteers and officials here on Sunday morning the 5th of June. Burgers will be served between ~10:30/10:45AM until approximately 1:30PM on the last morning of the meet.

Marquee 50 Free Event: This special 7x50m freestyle race takes place on Saturday night for the girls and Sunday afternoon for the boys. It is 7x50 on a 2 minute interval. The top-8 swimmers regardless of age from the results of our “A” finals (all ages combined) will be given the chance to participate. We will eliminate the last swimmer in the heat after each race until we are down to a battle between the top-2. There will be cash & ARENA prizes totaling more than $1000 split between the girls and the boys event. $ prizes will be sent via e-transfer.

Medals:  Medals will be presented in all events (including relays) for gold, silver and bronze. Medals will be awarded immediately following the race at the awards podium. There will be FINA High Point awards for the top-Female and top-Male swimmers of the meet in individual events.

The draw will happen at the start of finals on Sunday. Prize money will be e-transferred. Anyone (18+) can purchase while in Calgary. The system uses a geo locator for those not in Calgary to ensure that they are seen to be in Alberta when buying tickets as per AGLC rules.
