Meet Report | 2022 Speedo Western Canadian Championships

April 25, 2022

Here’s the Meet Report for the 2022 Speedo Western Canadian Championships from April 21st to 24th, 2022:

Team Goals

The Team Goals for this meet were to perform at the highest possible level as a team. Even though swimmers might only have a couple of qualifying times, we were able to offer lots of relays which gave lots of swimmers additional chances to race in the exciting Westerns environment. We saw lots of great individual swims from swimmers that were coming off of Trials, as well as swimmers for whom this was their peak event. The relays provided lots of opportunities for swimmers to step up and race hard in exciting environments. The club was 5th overall out of over 50 teams, which represents an awesome accomplishment. Great job to all of our OSC swimmers!

Swimmer Stats

The club brought 16 swimmers to this event. We had 30 personal bests, 10 podium places, and 1 new club record. Congratulations to Ian Cameron on his new club record in Men’s Open 50m Breaststroke (28.93). The swimmer with the largest improvement was Breanna White, with an improvement of 6.18 seconds in the 100m Butterfly, going from 1:31.41 to 1:25.23. Congratulations Breanna!
