Meet Report | 2021 SilverRay's Poppy Invitational

November 21, 2021

Over the past weekend, 46 swimmers from the OSC groups of AGP, JAG, and OW of all the satellite pools had the opportunity to race at the Silver Rays Poppy Invitational swim meet at the Kinsmen Sports Center. It has been a full season since a large amount of these swimmers have had the chance to race in a swim meet with multiple teams involved; for some swimmers this was their first swim meet ever! As a team the OSC coaches had challenged the athletes to get their head down into the finish and touch the wall as strong as possible! Across the board we saw swimmers holding their breath into the finish and really taking advantage of the racing opportunities the new competition presented.

Many of the swimmers attending this meet had the opportunity to race events that they hadn’t raced in over a year. The excitement was flooding the pool deck as we saw swimmers getting best times and big smiles left right and center! OSC would like to give a special shout out to Giovanni Tenorio who got the biggest best time of the weekend in his 100 free dropping 20.61 seconds!

This meet was a fantastic way to kick off the competitive season and we cant wait to see what is to come! Way to go O!
