17 swimmers from Provincial, Regional & Senior Competitive made the quick trip down to Calgary this past weekend to attend the Jack Frost Invitational swim meet. They were faced with quick sessions and an even quicker finals session on Saturday evening that gave these swimmers a chance to race back to back races in a 3 hour window… and OSC represented!! OSC brought home 30 medals (8 Gold, 12 Silver, 10 Bronze) with a couple of podium sweeps in there as well. Not only did OSC swim great in finals, we had a total of 115 best times from all swimmers combined. Fantastic job everyone!
Some of the standout performances were in the boys 13-14 age group where OSC swept the podium with Sebastien Valera, Michael Woo and Albert Li taking all three medals in the 100m Breaststroke and Michael Woo, Sebastien Valera and Matteo Lanni taking all three medals in the 100m IM. Always fun to see OSC teammates race each other and push each other right to the end, way to go boys!
OSC had 3 swimmers punch their ticket to Alberta Champs in March! Alberta Li got the Champs Train rolling by getting his time in the 200m Breaststroke (2:51.63) which was quickly followed by both Michael Woo (1:13.74) and Sebastien Valera (1:13..41) in the 100m Breaststroke. Congratulations gentlemen!
