This past weekend, 156 OSC swimmers participated in the Blue Bears Swim Meet, with over 500 swimmers from 14 other teams, Barrhead Swim Club, Cold Lake Marlins, Edmonton Keyano, Glencoe Gators, Lac La Biche Whitecaps, Lloydminster Riptides, Meadow Lake Manta Ray, Red Deer Catalina, Steadward Bears Para, Stettler Swim Club, Strathcona County Swim Club, Sylvan Lake Nauticals, Triton Swim Club and University of Alberta. Throughout the competition there was great team spirit and support which resulted in fantastic results!

The swimmers achieved:

3 New Club Records
•    Aiden Gyorfi – 15-17 yr/o – 800m Freestyle with a time of 8:10.86
•    Evan Brake – 10 & U – breaking his club record in 200m Backstroke with a new time of 2:39.37
•    Evan Brake – 10 & U – breaking a 35 year old record set by Dallas Dyson, in the 50m Breaststroke with a new time of 40.32

1 Top 10 Youth Recognition
•    Tao So (11) Top 10 Youth Recognition in 800m Freestyle with a time of 10:20.85

4 New Provincial Qualifiers
•    Leo Wang (12) Provincial Champs 13&U 800m Freestyle in a time of 10:08.30
•    Kathryn Woo (12) Provincial Trials 13&U 100m Breaststroke in a time of 1:30.25
•    Ivy Maguire (12) Festivals 12 yr/o 100m Butterfly in a time of 1:21.19
•    Chloe Chang (11) Festivals 11 yr/o 50m Backstroke in a time of 38.20

104 Podium Places, with a Third of our swimmers placing in the Top 3
