Hello Provincial and Senior Competitive families!
We are excited to finally give some information about training camp for both groups this season. After some hard work, talking to clubs and travel agents we can finally say we are going to Quebec City this year for training camp to train AND race at the University of Laval Red & Gold Swim Club in April 2025.
Here are some details about the camp:
Dates: April 4th-13th (10 days)
Swim Meet: April 11-13th (Long Course)
Training Days: April 5th to 10th (6 days)
Approximate Cost: $2000-$2250/ swimmer
Total Spots available: 30 swimmers
Chaperones: 2-3 based on numbers
Purpose of the camp:
The purpose of the camp this year is to give swimmers the opportunity to spend a full week focused solely on swimming. The importance of a full training regime which will include 2 hours training sessions (7-8 total), 1 hour dryland training (2-3 total), and a 3 day swim meet all within the span of 10 days. Swimmers will learn how to perform in both training and competition, and how to balance that with proper recovery, nutrition, sleep and school work. Every hour of this camp will be planned to include all those things. On top of that we want to give swimmers a chance to also see the city of Quebec, all its historical landmarks and the culture of our Francophone neighbors. The timing of this camp is shortly after spring break which is perfect to get the kids back in the water with a 100% focus on swimming as we push the last block of the season toward Summer Provincials.
More information about the camp will be sent out as we confirm details and we will have a full information meeting prior to the camp. We have opened a declaration for the camp on your accounts. At this point in time please declare if you intend to attend the camp, and if you are unsure but would like to declare as “an expression of interest” that will help with keeping camp cost estimations as accurate as possible. In that case please make a note as part of your declaration. Declaration deadline is January 31st, 2025.
