Meet Report | 2022 Edmonton Keyano Open

February 16, 2022

Here’s the Meet Report for the 2022 Edmonton Open from February 4-6th, 2022:

Team Goals

The Team Goals for this meet were to race the second half of each 50, and improve from heats to finals. With this being the club’s first long course meet in a couple of years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, swimmers were entered with their short course times. Swimming in the 50m pool is much different from 25m, in that you get to the 25 and you have to keep swimming! Understanding that feeling and adapting to it is an important part of doing your first long course meet of the season and everyone executed their race plans. Great job to all of our OSC swimmers!

Swimmer Stats

The club brought 33 swimmers to this event. We had 151 personal bests, 3 podium places, and 2 new club records. Congratulations to Ian Cameron on his new records in 15-17 Boys 100 and 200 Breaststroke, with times of 1:04.47 and 2:21.07 respectively. The swimmer with the largest improvement was Gillian Archer, with an improvement of 18.56 seconds in the 200 Backstroke, going from 3:21.91 to 3:03.35. Congratulations Gillian!
